Do I need to replace my existing VRV / VRF system?
No. AmbiAutomation is a retrofit. An on-site automation server connects to your existing VRV / VRF units, chillers, and VAVs over BACnet IP or MODBUS RTU — the equipment is retained.
What does AmbiAutomation add to an existing HVAC system?
A supervisory layer: centralized control, scheduling, zone-level monitoring, and energy optimization, delivered through an on-site automation server plus a mobile and web application.
Does the system keep working if the internet goes down?
Yes. The on-site server runs edge logic, so schedules, alarms, and overrides keep operating when backhaul is interrupted. The cloud layer is optional and used for multi-site rollups and reporting.
How much HVAC energy can centralized control save?
HVAC is typically 40–60% of a commercial building's electricity bill. Disciplined schedules and setpoints, measured against a documented baseline, typically recover 15–30% of HVAC energy over a 12–24 month payback.
Which HVAC brands are supported?
Any system that exposes a BACnet IP or MODBUS RTU interface — including Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, Hitachi, LG, and Toshiba VRV / VRF systems — natively or through an OEM gateway. A site survey confirms protocol exposure for the installed equipment.
